M.Sc. International Energy Economics and Business Administration

Prof. Dr. Thomas Bruckner

holds the chair of Energy Management and Sustainability and is chairman of the Intitute of Energy Policy and Energy Management. Professor Dr. Bruckner has published more than 200 scientific papers, 70 of them in peer-reviewed journals or international status reports.

The number of invited papers exceeds 150. He is a reviewer of respected international journals, co-organizer of numerous scientific conferences, participant in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, since 2008), chairman of the board of the Institute for Energy Policy and Energy Economics and managing director of the Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management at the University of Leipzig (since 2009). In 2014, he was also appointed one of the speakers of the newly created research profile line „Sustainable Systems and Biodiversity“ at the University of Leipzig.

Prof. em. Dr. Rolf Hasse

held the Chair of Economics, in particular Economic Policy, at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg and at the University of Leipzig . He was Director of the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg and Provisional Director of the Fraunhofer Centre for Central and Eastern Europe (MOEZ). His research reviews the fundamentals of the social market economy, economic policy, international monetary and trade policy, European integration, relationship between education and economic system, theory and policy of the transfer of innovations, situation and perspectives of SMEs in Russia. He is now Speaker of the doctoral college of the Konrad Adenauer foundation.

Prof. em. Dr. Ullrich Heilemann

held the chair of Economics/ Econometrics. Professor Dr. Heilemann was Vice President of the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (RWI) in Essen, and Professor of Empirical Economic Research at the Institute for Empirical Economic Research Leipzig and its Director. Ullrich Heilemann is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the economic policy journal Wirtschaftsdienst and Vice Chairman, Supervisory Board, FERI AG, Bad Homburg. He is an active Member of the Board, Centre for Economic Research of Economic Tendency Surveys (CIRET), Zurich as well as Chairman of different working groups. He was Vice-President of the  European Advisory Committee on Statistical Information in the Economic and Social Spheres (CEIES) of the Council of the European Union.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Holländer

holds the chair of Environmental Technology in Water Management and for Corporate Environmental Management in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and is deputy chairman of the Intitute of Energy Policy and Energy Management.
Within MIEEBA he offers insights in environment economics, HSE and Renewable Energy systems as well as European regulation on environment.

Prof. Dr. Frank Schuhmacher

holds the chair of Management Science/ Finance. As finance expert he offers a deep insight in the introductory lecture in the first semester, providing MIEEBA students with the necessary tools to gain a common and broad knowledge of quantitative economics.

Prof. Dr. Gunther Schnabl

holds the the Chair of Economic Policy and International Economic Relations at the University of Leipzig, where he heads the Institute for Economic Policy. In the ranking of the international scientific database IDEAS he is one of the top 3% economists in Germany and Europe.

Experts know him as an author of relevant journals, the general public as an interview partner for radio and television or through publications in the FAZ, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Spiegel, or the Börsenzeitung. In the F.A.Z. economist ranking Gunther Schnabl is listed as one of the „most influential economists of Germany“. His work focuses on monetary policy on financial and goods markets based on the work of Nobel Prize winner Friedrich-August von Hayek.

Prof. em. Dr. Reinhard Welter

did hold the chair of Civil Law, German, European and International Corporate Law. He was Director of the Institute for German and International Banking and Capital Markets Law.
